Freak Finances Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Freak Finances is a personal finance-recording and analysis application provided by The Freak Company, LLC(“The Freak Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use Freak Finances.
This policy applies to Freak Finances. Other Freak apps may have their own app-specific privacy policies.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive and store your Firebase account ID, email address or Apple private relay address, display name, optional first and last name, and account creation and sign-in dates.
Profile information. If you choose to add a profile image, we process and store that image and its associated file address.
Financial records you enter. We store information you create in the app, including spending and earning amounts, names, dates, currencies, category assignments, custom category names and colors, selected primary and favorite currencies, balance baselines, and related history and calculated summaries. This is sensitive personal information even though Freak Finances does not connect to your bank and does not request bank credentials, payment-card numbers, or brokerage credentials.
Subscription information. When you purchase or restore a subscription, Apple and RevenueCat process information such as the product selected, subscription and entitlement status, trial eligibility, transaction and renewal dates, cancellation status, and receipt-related purchase information. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number.
Technical and analytics information. We collect limited technical and usage information, such as app version, device type, operating system, language, and authentication, onboarding, or subscription events. We use Firebase Analytics for limited product measurement. We do not intentionally send your transaction or balance records to Firebase Analytics.
Exchange-rate requests. Freak Finances retrieves current currency exchange rates from Open Exchange Rates. This request may expose technical information ordinarily sent in an internet request, such as your IP address, to that provider. We do not send your personal finance records with an exchange-rate request.
Support communications. If you contact us, we collect the information you include in your message so we can respond.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Sync your finance records across supported devices.
- Calculate and display balances, category totals, histories, charts, and multi-currency summaries.
- Process, validate, restore, and manage subscription access.
- Provide support and respond to privacy or legal requests.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot problems.
- Measure and improve core app flows and reliability.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.
We do not use your financial records for targeted advertising, credit decisions, lending decisions, or automated financial profiling.
3. How we share information
We share information only as necessary to operate Freak Finances:
- Apple: provides Sign in with Apple and processes App Store purchases, trials, billing, cancellations, refunds, and purchase restoration.
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud: Firebase Authentication manages authentication; Cloud Firestore stores account and finance data; Cloud Storage stores an optional profile image; Firebase Analytics processes limited analytics and technical information.
- RevenueCat: processes your Firebase account ID as an app user ID, purchase and entitlement information, and limited device/app information to validate purchases and provide subscription access. RevenueCat does not receive your spending, earnings, category, or balance records.
- Open Exchange Rates: provides currency exchange-rate data and may process technical request information. It does not receive your Freak Finances records from us.
- Support providers: process messages you send so we can respond.
- Legal or business transactions: where necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets.
If you use multiple Freak apps with one account, limited account details, app-activation flags, and subscription-entitlement information may be associated with that shared account. Your Freak Finances records remain app-specific unless we clearly tell you otherwise.
4. No sale or advertising profile
We do not sell personal information. We do not use financial records for cross-context behavioural advertising, and Freak Finances does not show third-party advertisements.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain account and finance data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and enforce agreements.
You can delete individual finance records in the app. To request deletion of your full Freak account and data under our control, contact us at hello@thefreakcompany.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.
Deleting your Freak account does not cancel an Apple subscription. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings. Apple, RevenueCat, and other providers may retain certain transaction, security, or backup information under their own obligations.
6. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including authenticated access controls and encrypted transmission. No online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, contact hello@thefreakcompany.com.
8. Children
Freak Finances is not directed to children under 13, or any higher minimum age required for independent consent where the user lives. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, our service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required.
